Movie | 60th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty, the French Institute will screen two films celebrating the Franco-German friendship!

On January 22, 1963, German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer and General de Gaulle sealed the Franco-German reconciliation by signing the Elysée Treaty. The act marks the start of the “Franco-German Engine” by instituting periodic meetings between the leaders and officials of the two countries. This year, France and Germany commemorate and celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty (1963), a bilateral cooperation treaty, often referred to as the “treaty of friendship and reconciliation”. On this occasion, the French Institute of Cambodia will present a film by Wim Wenders, Pina devoted to the choreographer Pina Bausch, and another film by François Truffaut Jules and Jim, which shows the friendship between two artists before , during and after the Great War.

This film explores the life and work of this artist of movement while we see her company perform her most notable creations where basic things like water, dirt and even gravity take on otherworldly qualities in their dancing.
