From July 12 to 15, Institut français welcomes pianist and conductor David Greilsammer, currently on tour in Asia, for a series of events around the piano in its Media Library!

• Conference-Concert “History of music… in music!”
Wednesday, July 12 at 6:30pm / Free
Come and take a music history lesson at the piano, which retraces the epic of the famous instrument, from the clavichord to the modern piano!

• Concert “Érik Satie en miroir”
Thursday, July 13 at 7pm / $5
With a repertoire composed mainly of pieces by Érik Satie played in mirror image of great composers throughout the ages (Beethoven, Scarlatti, Prokofiev, Mozart, Schubert, Couperin, etc.)

•  Children’s workshops “History of music”
Saturday, July 15 at 9:30am (4-6 yo) and 10:15am (7-15 yo) / $5
These 45-minute workshops are specially designed for young audiences, for an interactive, eclectic, free and unprejudiced musical education.

David Greislammer

Recognised as one of today’s most audacious conductors and pianists, David Greilsammer has brought to life numerous innovative projects, world premieres, as well as ground-breaking encounters between different arts and cultures. Released by Naïve, his most recent solo album, named Labyrinth, has received more than ten international prizes and has been hailed by the press, describing it as ‘radical’, ‘courageous’, and ‘astounding’. Since 2013, David Greilsammer has been serving as Music and Artistic Director of the Geneva Camerata, and became in 2022 conductor and musical director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellín, Colombia.
