The Institut français welcomes David Greilsammer, conductor and virtuoso pianist!

During 45-minute workshops at the Media Library, David Greilsammer will return to music on the history of the piano, a versatile and polyphonic instrument par excellence, from its invention to today. These workshops are specially designed for young audiences, for an interactive, eclectic, free and unprejudiced musical education.

2 workshops are scheduled at the Institute:
– For 3-6 year olds at 9:30am
– For 7-15 year olds at 10:15am

David Greilsammer 

Recognized as one of today’s most daring conductors and pianists, David Greilsammer has given life to many innovative projects, world premieres, as well as unprecedented encounters between different arts and cultures. Released by Naïve, his latest solo album, entitled Labyrinth, received more than ten international awards and was praised by the press, calling it “radical”, “courageous” and “stunning”. His other recordings, released by Sony Classical, have received numerous accolades, including from The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Sunday Times. Since 2013, David Greilsammer has been musical and artistic director of the Camerata de Genève, and in 2022 becomes conductor and musical director of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Medellín, in Colombia.
