During a workshop, turn your children into budding mangaka!
Mangaka are the name given to Japanese manga artists. As part of the “Mangaka, Mangafra” season, the Media Library offers children aged 7 to 12 the opportunity to familiarize themselves with this type of comic strip typical of the land of the rising sun, during two workshops with the artist Marie Coquillart!
- Saturday, July 15th: The manuscript for Nakata Yuka’s next manga book has been stolen! Fortunately, the author kept a copy on his computer. But it lacks a board! He asks you to help him so he can send his next manga to the printer!
- Saturday, August 12th: Screenwriter Maruyama Rokuro wants to start the project for a new manga movie but he’s out of inspiration for his characters! Can you help him and suggest characters that will help him get started in his new project?
Marie Coquillart
Marie is an artist recently settled in Phnom Penh. She traveled the world and lived abroad for several years in different countries, including Cambodia in 2018 before the pandemic. Marie draws and paints from an early age. She has tested many mediums and techniques over the years (acrylic, dry pastels, charcoal) and has exhibited in different cities in France. She discovered watercolor in 2014 and Indian ink shortly after and made it her main mediums. Also a music teacher, Marie likes to share and teach her artistic knowledge to as many people as possible.
