Movie | Onoda, 10 000 Nights In The Jungle

The French Institute of Cambodia is organizing 3 additional screenings of Arthur Harari’s latest film!

“Onoda, 10,000 nights in the jungle”, released in theaters in 2022, was shot and produced entirely in Cambodia (in Kep, Kampot and Sihanoukville), with a team of more than 60 Cambodian professionals. This fiction feature film, inspired by a true story, won the César for best screenplay in 2021. Released in Cambodian theaters in October, (re)discover it during 3 screenings at the Institut français cinema:

  • December 3rd at 4pm (OV with FR subs)
  • December 13th at 6:30pm (OV with KH and EN subs) with Davy Chou
  • December 21st at 6:30pm (OV with KH and EN subs)

Synopsis
Japan, 1944. Trained for intelligence work, Hiroo Onoda, 22 years old, discovers a philosophy contrary to the official line : no suicide, stay alive whatever happens, the mission is more important than anything else. Sent to Lubang, a small island in the Philippines where the Americans are about to land, his role will be to wage a guerilla war until the return of the Japanese troops. The Empire will surrender soon after, Onoda 10.000 days later. Watch the trailer!
