The Cannes Film Festival is coming to Phnom Penh!

The Institut français is partnering with Major Cineplex to present a selection of 19 movies from the 2020-2021 editions of the Festival, from May 20 to May 28! Celebrate the inauguration of Cannes in Phnom Penh on Friday, May 20, from 6pm onwards, for an evening on the theme of “memory”! Join us for a performance by Tango Cambodia with Elkin Guerra & Nina Mall at 6pm, then for the screening of the Jury Price 2021 Memoria by Thai director Apitchatpong Weerasethakul.

This cinema series is organized alongside the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in France, which will take place in May 2022. For 9 days, from May 20 to May 28, 19 international films and 20 screenings (6 screenings at the Major Cineplex and 16 sessions at the IFC) will be presented to Cambodian and international audiences of Phnom Penh.

Ticket fee: $3 per screening
Festival Pass: $20 (giving access to all screenings during the festival)
