The film follows in parallel the creation of the show entitled Métamorphoses and the history of the royal ballet since 1906 when Rodin, fascinated by the dancers, began to draw them. In this alternation where the present comes to question the past, where movements and postures transport us into a universe of splendor and mystery, the ballet gradually becomes, before our eyes, the support of a restored and magnified national identity, at the same time as an object of fascination for the foreign public.
