Danse | A Bend in the River

Conceived and choreographed by Sophiline Cheam-Shapiro for Sophiline Arts Ensemble, « A Bend in the River » is a contemporary telling of a village tale of love, heartbreak, vengeance, consequence and redemption. It expands Cambodia’s rich storytelling tradition by incorporating Sophiline’s innovative classical choreography, Him Sophy’s original score for pin peat orchestra, Sopheap Pich’s one-of-a-kind rattan puppets, San Vannary’s costumes and Kong Vollak’s set designs. In the end, it’s a spellbinding ballet that reflects on the choices we make in the heat of passion.
