In Montreal, Algerian immigrant Bachir Lazhar is hired at short notice to replace a primary school teacher who has suddenly disappeared. He gradually learns to know and to adapt himself to his students despite the cultural gap that manifests himself in the first lesson. As the class begins a slowly healing process, no one in school suspects Bachir’s painful past, which threatens expulsion from the country at any time. Watch the trailer !
