April 2015 marks the 40th anniversary of the Khmer Rouge takeover of Phnom Penh. In the context of this commemoration, the French Institute invites film maker Davy Chou to discuss the past, present and future of Cambodian cinema, in the light of his films: “Golden Slumbers” – which questions survivors from the cinematic world before 1975 – and “Cambodia 2099” –, which portrays today’s Cambodian youth and their dreams. Both of these films will be screened on Saturday 4 April.
Cambodia 2099 and Golden Slumbers will be screened on Saturday 4 April at the French Institute’s movie theater
