Théo Vallier, French artist living in Cambodia since 2007, has been working on paintings made from rusty metal plates for years. In an ever-moving contemporary Phnom Penh, his work is a real time machine, keeping reality at a distance and engaging the viewer in a peculiar perception of the city and its urban environment. The plastic artist thus finds in the city a singular material of which he buries images in rust, as if to expose them and make them disappear through a process of wear and the passage of time.
