How is the legacy of Cambodian classical dance restyled in the contemporary practice of dance? This dance explores relationships between three women (choreographer Chey Chankethya, her mother and her dance teacher) to create a dialogue about the tension between the individual’s need for freedom and the oppressive conventions of the closed worlds.

Chankethya’s work puts Cambodian dance in direct conversation with its audience by questioning on individual responsibility, the weight of inheritance and the future.
