In the backyard of the Vietnamese war, Cambodia is, for journalists, a much different universe. A world of dusty roads, where danger – Viet Congs, Khmer Rouge – can jump out every second from an ever-changing front; a capital on its way to being encircled, where reporters bear witness to the surrounding chaos with the quivering of bombs all around them. Many are those who, like Sean Flynn, Errol’s son , disappear early on the road. Others, like Elizabeth Becker, build with Cambodia a long-lasting bond.
